About three hours from Lavra and at an altitude of 100 meters from the sea is the skete of Kausokalyvia, literally perched on the rocks.

The Skete's Katholikon, called Kyriako, was built in 1745 and frescoed in the late 18th century. The library contains 23 codices and several hundred printed books. Vestments, icons, liturgical vessels, crosses, relics of saints, etc. are still kept there.
