Somewhere high up on the top is the famous hagiographic house of the Danieleia, called by pilgrims "Oasis in the desert". It is formally a cell, but is actually a small monastery. The monks are currently engaged in icon painting and have offered hundreds of their works to many Orthodox churches around the world. This house was founded about 70 years ago by the scholarly monk Daniel, superior of the Panteleimon monastery. The contribution of the brotherhood of Daniel to Byzantine music is great. They do not even cease to willingly praise Plasti at the great festivals of the Mount where they are invited by the other monks.
